For much of my life, I measured success the way many high-achieving people do: by what I could accomplish, endure and push through.
I practiced law, built a career and became very good at carrying a lot. Like many women, I spent years moving from one responsibility to the next, believing that if I could just work a little harder or push a little further, everything would stay on track.
Then a hit-and-run changed my life.
The traumatic brain injury and PTSD that followed stripped away many of the things I had relied on to navigate the world. The strategies that had always worked for me — productivity, achievement and pushing through discomfort — were no longer available.
For the first time, I was forced to listen.
What began as a search for recovery became a much larger exploration of what it means to be human. Through yoga, qigong, meditation, nervous system education, strength training and years of personal study, I became fascinated by a question:
What allows a person not only to heal, but to return fully to life?
The hit-and-run taught me something I had never fully understood before: life is precious and we take many simple things for granted until they're gone. The ability to think clearly. To move with ease. To feel at home in your own body. To trust yourself.
The experience changed the way I see health, healing and vitality.
What once felt like an obstacle became a guide. I stopped seeing my nervous system as something that needed to be fixed and started relating to it as something that was trying to communicate with me. The more I listened, the more I realized it wasn't standing in the way of my life. It was trying to help me find my way back to it.
That realization became the foundation of my work.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of movement, consciousness and longevity. Whether through yoga, qigong, nervous system education, meditation, strength training or wellness coaching, my goal is the same: to help people cultivate the capacity to participate more fully in their lives.
I believe healing matters. I believe resilience can be cultivated. I believe the body carries wisdom. Most of all, I believe life is meant to be lived.
The Vital Field was born from that belief.
It is a space for people who want to move through life with greater vitality, greater awareness and a deeper connection to themselves. A place where ancient practices and modern science meet. A place where healing is honored, growth is encouraged and curiosity is welcomed.
Because the goal isn't simply to feel better.
The goal is to live this one life more fully.
